Shakira

Shakira announced on June 17th that her new album, “She Wolf” will be released in September and a new tour will kick off in the United States in Uncasville, Ct. on September 17, 2010.  The multi-Grammy award winning singer will tour extensively through the United States, Europe and Latin America.  She was recently seen at the 2010 FIFA World Cup opening concert performing with the South African group Fleshyground.

“She Wolf” is the 7th studio album from Shakira, who was born Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll in 1977 in Barranquilla, Columbia.  She has won two Grammy Awards (Best Latin Pop Album-2001, Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album-2006) and three Latin Grammy Awards (Record of the Year in 2006, Song of the Year in 2006 and Album of the year in 2006).

Shakira is currently touring, and will stop by San Antonio, TX to sing at the Majestic Theatre on Oct 6, 2010.

Rush

The Canadian Rock Band Rush is back on tour with a new album, “Clockwork Angels,” their 19th studio LP to be released in spring 2011.  The first single off the album, “Caravan” was released on June 1, 2011 along with the b-side release of “BU2B”.  To date, Rush has released 24 Gold records and 14 platinum (3 multi-platinum) with total worldwide

Though the wildly popular band has yet to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since their eligibility in 1996 seemingly a direct result of the band remaining out the outside of the rock mainstream in terms of self promotion.  The band was, however, made Officer of the Order of Canada in 1996.
